Say the line slowly, then use the minute
Tongue twister practice on this page is a diction warm-up with a one-minute clock. The first line is "Red lorry, yellow lorry." so the page can render the same words every time. Press Next twister for another line. The button will not hand you the line you are already on if another line exists. Press Start 60s drill to count down from 1:00. The button becomes Restart 60s drill. When the clock reaches the end, the drill stops. Tongue twister practice does not score you and does not listen.
The lines in the bank are short classics you can say without an account: Red lorry, yellow lorry. Unique New York. She sells seashells by the seashore. Toy boat, three times. Irish wristwatch. The woodchuck line. Peter Piper. Six slick slim saplings. Freshly fried flying fish. And the thirty-three thieves line. Tongue twister practice is not an encyclopedia of every twister on the internet. If you need a different line, this is the wrong page. Use these until the consonants are clean.
Read the line once in a whisper so you can feel the sounds. Then say it three times slowly. Only then start the minute. Tongue twister practice at full speed on a muddy line just rehearses the mud.
What the minute is for
The minute is not a race to the highest count. Tongue twister practice uses sixty seconds so you have enough time to fail, slow down, and get one clean repetition before the clock ends. If a sound collapses, slow down inside the minute. Speed after the sound is clean. Restart if you want a fresh sixty seconds. The page does not keep your best count, because it never counted.
Use the minute on one line. Switching lines every ten seconds is collecting, not practice. Tongue twister practice will let you press Next during the clock. Do not. Finish the line you started.
A clean repetition means every consonant in the line is the one you intended, at a pace you could use in a sentence afterward. Tongue twister practice does not define a tempo in words per minute. Your mouth does. If you can say the line cleanly and then say a normal sentence without staying in twister-voice, the warm-up worked.
How to use a specific line
"Red lorry, yellow lorry" swaps the liquids. Keep the L and the R different. If they merge, tongue twister practice is telling you to slow the pair, not to add volume.
"Unique New York" is a vowel and a consonant cluster, not a shout. Say it at conversation volume. "She sells seashells by the seashore" fails when S and SH become the same sound. Isolate the two sounds once, then put them back in the line.
"Toy boat" fails when the vowels smear. Three clean boats are enough. The woodchuck line is long. Tongue twister practice includes it so you have one sentence-length drill. Break it after "chuck wood" in your head if you need a breath, then connect it. Peter Piper is the same kind of length. Do not perform it. Articulate it.
The thieves line is the densest TH and R sequence in the bank. If it falls apart, return to "Red lorry, yellow lorry" for the minute and come back tomorrow. Tongue twister practice is a warm-up, not a test you pass by suffering the hardest line.
Warm up, then speak something real
Tongue twisters do not fix a talk by themselves. They wake up articulation. They do not choose your point, your story, or your pace. After one clean minute, record four sentences of a real update on the audio recorder. If you only ever do tongue twister practice, you get better at twisters and stay vague in the meeting.
If the anxiety quiz sent you here, do the minute, then the four sentences, and stop. Do not add a camera. Tongue twister practice is the small start. The quiz said so for the highest band. Other bands have other drills. Do not collect them.
If your rate is the question, go to the words per minute calculator after the warm-up, not during it. A twister spoken as fast as possible is a terrible sample of your speaking rate. The words per minute calculator wants a normal paragraph. Tongue twister practice wants precision first.
Limits and courtesy
Do not use tongue twister practice as speech therapy, an accent-reduction program, or a test of intelligence. A stumbled R is not a diagnosis. If a sound is painful, inconsistent in a way that worries you, or part of a child's development, see a qualified clinician. This page is a rehearsal toy for people who already speak and want a sharper warm-up.
Do not mock someone else's accent with these lines. The bank is for your own mouth. Tongue twister practice is not a party game the site will host, score, or broadcast.
The lines are widely repeated classics. The page is not claiming a new authorship and not selling a course in them. You may say them anywhere. The timer is the only mechanism added here.
There is no audio example. Tongue twister practice does not play a model voice. You cannot hide behind an imitation. If you want to hear yourself, record on the audio recorder after the minute, not instead of the slow passes.
A four-minute warm-up
Minute one: whisper the line, then three slow passes, no clock. Minute two: start the 60-second drill and stay slow enough to stay clean. If you speed into a smear, restart. Tongue twister practice would rather you finish one clean cycle than ten blurred ones.
Minute three: a normal sentence that uses one hard sound from the line, said to an imaginary colleague, not in twister rhythm. Minute four: four sentences of a real update on the recorder, or out loud if you are not recording. Then stop. More tongue twister practice after that is procrastination unless a specific sound is still wrong.
Tomorrow, press Next and repeat the same four minutes on a new line. Keep a line for a week only if that sound is the one you are changing. The bank is small enough to cycle. That is a feature.
One line, one clean cycle, then a real sentence
Tongue twister practice fails when you chase a count. The clock is sixty seconds so you can slow down inside the minute and still finish one clean cycle. Restart if the sounds smear. Do not press Next twister until that cycle is clean. The bank is ten lines, starting with "Red lorry, yellow lorry." so the first render is stable. Unique New York, the seashell line, "Toy boat" three times, Irish wristwatch, the woodchuck line, Peter Piper, the saplings line, the flying fish line, and the thirty-three thieves line are the rest. Tongue twister practice is not a larger collection than that.
Say the line at a volume you would use in a meeting. Shouting hides the consonant you missed. After the minute, say one ordinary sentence that uses the hard sound, then stop the tongue twister practice. Four sentences of a real update on the audio recorder are the next step if you were sent here from the quiz. A twister spoken as fast as possible is a bad sample for the words per minute calculator. Measure rate on a normal paragraph, not on this drill.
Tongue twister practice does not listen, score, or play a model voice. It is not speech therapy. Pain, a sound that worries you, or a child's speech belongs with a qualified clinician. Use the minute as a warm-up for your own mouth, then leave the tongue twister practice and say something you actually need to say.
If the thieves line collapses, stay on "Red lorry, yellow lorry" until L and R are different, then stop. Peter Piper and the woodchuck line are the long ones. Break them in your head, then connect them. The drill is finished when the next sentence you say is a normal update, not another twister. Do not carry the rhythm into that update.
Questions
Do tongue twisters fix a speech by themselves?
No. Tongue twister practice warms up articulation. It does not replace hearing a full answer. Use the audio recorder for that.
How fast should I go?
Slow until the sounds are clean, then bring the line up toward a speaking pace inside the minute. Speed on a muddy line rehearses the mud.
Does the page listen or score me?
No. The clock only counts down. Tongue twister practice does not know whether you were accurate.
Where are the lines from?
They are short classics in wide circulation. The page lists the ones in this bank and does not claim an exclusive collection.
Can this replace speech therapy?
No. Tongue twister practice is not treatment. Pain, worry, or a child's speech development belongs with a qualified clinician.
What should I do after the minute?
Say something real: four sentences of an update, or one minute on the topic generator. Do not stay in the twister.
